Five Lincoln University alumni were honored as Distinguished Alumni at the Lincoln College Preparatory Academy (Kansas City, Missouri) Sesquicentennial ceremonies on August 8. Congratulations to Dr. Zelma Lloyd Frank ’57, Stone Mountain, Georgia; Dr. Julia Hill ’43, Kansas City, MO; Mr. Ollie Gates ’54, Kansas City, MO; Mr. Robert Lee Morgan ’53, Kansas City, Missouri; and Mr. Harold B. Moore III, Kansas City, Missouri.
VASHON HIGH SCHOOL HALL OF FAME
Congratulations to Rhonda Staton-Harper ‘82, Lincoln University Director of Bands and Assistant Professor of Music, for her induction into the Vashon High School Hall of Fame. Te Induction Ceremony for the 16th Hall of Fame was held on September 27 in St. Louis, Missouri.
ORTMEYER HONORED FOR 40 YEARS OF SERVICE
Past and present members of the Lincoln University Board of Curators, current and former presidents and colleagues gathered on June 11 to honor Rose Ann Ortmeyer ‘92, Executive Assistant to the University President, for her 40 years of service to the university. She began her work at LU in 1975 in support of Dr. Tomas Pawley. During her tenure, she has served five university presidents and five interim presidents.
“MISSOURI IMPRESSIONS” FEATURED AT ASHBY-HODGE GALLERY OF AMERICAN ART
Te works of Carol Hatting Bramon ’61 were featured in the Ashby Hodge Gallery exhibition from June 7 – July 23. Bramon, who lives in Mexico, Missouri, taught art for 25 years. She continues to work in her home studio and participates in a variety of art shows.
DR. JAMES FRANK ’53 HONORED BY SOUTHWEST ATHLETIC CONFERENCE
Dr. James Frank ’53 was selected by the SWAC Alumni Association to receive its 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award. Te award was presented at the Southwestern Athletic Conference Annual Legends Reception and Roast on December 4 in Houston, Texas.
NEW DIRECTOR
Lt. Roger Whittler ‘08, who completed his master’s degree in sociology, was designated Director of the Missouri Highway Patrol’s Career Recruitment Division in Spring 2015.
ONES TO WATCH
In its May issue, the Jefferson City Magazine named its seventh group of “Ones to Watch” in the coming years. Te designation represents the next generation of outstanding leaders who are passionate about their professions and the Jefferson City Community. Nathan Hays ‘10, Sales and Leasing Consultant at Jefferson City Autoplex, is an LU alumnus with a bachelor’s degree in wellness. He and his wife Amanda have two daughters. Te second Lincolnite in the 2015 listing is Mr. Willie Jude II, Lincoln University Executive Director of Philanthropy and Executive Director of the Lincoln

Filmmaker David Martyn Conley first released Tapestry of Shadows as a stage play. It was the first student-written, student directed play produced at Lincoln University. Conley says it was inspired by the chronic issue of inner city violence. An award-winning motion picture version of Tapestry of Shadows was released recently under St. Louis-based distribution company, Pirate Media Group. Conley plans to use a portion of the proceeds to fund scholarships for his alma mater, Lincoln University. Tapestry of Shadows is available for rent or purchase at the following links:
