Note from Rod
Tom Henke was one of major league baseball’s premier closers through the 1980’s and 90s, in my early days of broadcasting. I’ll never forget showing highlights of Tom saving games for the Blue Jays, Rangers and Cardinals. We watched him pitch in the World Series and All-Star games. I also remember covering him in Spring Training in Dunedin, Florida. Tom became a good friend, and he has thousands of friends here in Missouri and around the baseball world. He was a tough competitor on the mound, but also one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet, from one of the best families around. Since his retirement from the game, his great work for the Special Learning Center has been life changing. We are so proud to honor Tom in our Show-Me Sports Magazine.

A big thank you to our expanding team of talented contributors that tell the stories of our local students, teams and school packed into 112 pages. Thanks to my daughters Paige, Brooke, and Brittany who lead the way in our Show-Me Sports Magazine. It’s been such a fun venture with them and a fun adventure we had to watch the NCAA women’s Final Four in Phoenix. Powered by Faith, Family, and Friends, we present to you Show- Me Sports!
