We have all heard the words “God has a plan,” but truly grasping and letting it happen are not easy.

She has been tested in her short life in many ways, but she also believes faith is all that has gotten her through. Kelsey knew athletic training for a future career would be something where she could continue to be around sports and also help others, but what she didn’t know was that her career choice would also lead to her husband and the start of a journey where words fall short for me in describing. Kelsey was pumped when Helias Catholic High School was position. Jacob, her future husband, unbeknownst to her at the time, was also pumped as he told his wrestling boys that he was divine intervention as they both needed each other equally? Kelsey’s father, Kurt Schenewerk, passed away early into their newfound

relationship, and Kelsey claims Jacob was there for her during her darkest time without missing a beat. It was preparation for the battle they would soon face together. Just eight months into dating, Jacob was diagnosed with cancer.

She is also looking forward to returning to the sidelines at Helias to continue her day job.
