MOVING MOUNTAINS

Celebrating the Construction Industry’s Creativity, Resourcefulness and Resolve

BY PETER TATEISHI, CEO C

onstruction holds a unique posi- tion within society. We are a constant. An industry that is

ever-present and in constant demand by the people. We meet the people’s demand to build our communities and enhance our quality of life. As a constant, we have the responsi-

bility and obligation to always push the limits and find new ways for our industry to be better. Construction has no “peak;” it has no “summit.” We must build on. We innovate as an industry and challenge assumptions and the status quo. Our ingenuity and perseverance support our success as an industry – as a constant. Our everyday work brings our com-

munities together, and every project is worthy of celebration. However, our end users do not always appreciate the difficulty in our work. Every project is met with challenges and complications, and every project is met with a team who finds a way to overcome and complete the job. It is because of this that AGC of Cal-

ifornia pauses every year to publicly celebrate and recognize our industry. We come together as the construction industry where we honor our leaders, change makers, partners, and projects. The AGC of California Installation & Awards Gala gives us a platform where

we can display our creativity, resource- fulness, and resolve. Tis year’s program highlighted some of the best projects across the state and elevated our indus- try’s pioneers and exemplars. At AGC of California, we celebrate

the construction industry every day. We are honored to be in service to this industry because we believe the con- struction industry is vital to the success of California. We know the pressures you feel as a constant, and we stand ready to lift up and support you and the construction industry as we continue to climb to new heights. As a people and as a society, we have

defined ourselves from the beginning through what we build. And we under- stand that the climb our industry is on will have no end. So, congratulations to all our finalists and award winners who were recognized at this year’s gala and thank you to everyone in the construc- tion industry who marches forward step- by-step to keep our way of life thriving. We continue to say to you: BUILD ON!
