HEAVY CIVIL $10 MILLION - $25 MILLION

Channel and Floodplain Restoration” Designed to counteract the severe ecological impacts of historical hydraulic mining in the Yuba Goldfields, the Hallwood Side Channel and Floodplain Restoration project is a prominent example of a successful public-private partnership in environmental restoration. Te project focused on revitalizing over 150 acres of riparian floodplain and 7.8 miles of side channels to restore ecological processes and enhance flood resilience in the Marysville region. Leveraging the efficiency of Teichert’s adjacent aggregate plant, Yuba

County Water Agency contracted with Teichert to perform the work and materials handling. Tis partnership not only cut costs significantly but also streamlined the removal of 3.2 million cubic yards of sediment. Teichert overcame an array of challenges with innovative solutions that

enabled the project to be completed on time and within budget. Tese solu- tions – including deploying a portable, pre-fabricated, truss bridge, or Bailey bridge, to access the site efficiently, and environmentally friendly practices that ensured the project’s sustainability – illustrated the benefits of the team’s collaborative efforts and innovative approaches. Also selected as finalists in this category were CalPortland Construction for

“Gaviota Secant Wall Emergency Project,” Granite Construction Company for “Santa Claus Lane Bike Path,” and Skanska USA Civil for “I-15 Median Fill Various Locations from Harvard Road Overcrossing to Rasor Road Overcrossing.”
