Audrey also credits her community for showing up — not just in the stands, but behind the scenes. “They are always at every game cheer- ing, wanting the best for us, and that means a lot,” she says. “Just to know I live in a town where everyone can come together and support one another makes me feel grateful.” Through all her experiences in playing sports so far, she’s most proud of reaching the Final Four in volleyball as both a freshman and junior and earning All-State honors this past season. But what she cherishes most are the friendships she’s made along the way. “I know I can go to practice and forget about everything else and just be with my team. On all my teams, the players have always been some of my best friends,” she shares. Looking ahead, Audrey plans to play volleyball in college and is she’ll study, but she knows she’ll carry the discipline and resilience from sports into whatever comes next. Audrey hopes the younger athletes behind her will take away something from the way she’s led while in high school. “I like to set an example for the younger kids at Eldon. I want them to succeed too,” she tells us. Her goals for senior year are simple but meaningful. “My main goal is to just be better as a team,” she says. “I like to see us all achieve and get better every day.” And even when the last match is over, she knows the lessons, experiences, and friendships will carry forward.
