Former Player And Coach Returns To The Blue And Gold better with the return of former Helias player and coach Andy Pitts. Pitts was a running back and safety for the Crusaders from 1998- 2014. He left that year and had college coaching stints at the Univer- sity of St. Thomas (2015), Northwest Missouri State as a graduate assistant (2016) and Lincoln University (2017-2018). He returned to the high school game in 2019, when he went to St. It was family that brought him back to the blue and gold of Helias. “My wife and I have two beautiful daughters, and moving closer to family we thought would be better for them,” said Pitts. “I am excit- ed to work with so many great people at Helias. The other coaches and teachers are all amazing.”
Pitts says Helias is a special place. “It’s a place where I can grow in my faith. It’s a place with great people who love, support and challenge me to be better.”
Coming back, he will also get to again coach with his brother Phil.
“Working with my brother is awesome. We challenge and help each other so much. I always learn from him,” said Andy Pitts. will teach biology at Helias.
