That growth wouldn’t have happened without the coaches who            Rademann, was the one who sparked her love for the sport, patient- ly catching wild pitches and teaching her the fundamentals. When  not, who pushed her to the next level by sharpening her skills and teaching her how to “think like a pitcher.” And then there’s her dad,   “I’ve been blessed with so many amazing coaches,” Sophia said. “They taught me the game, but they also believed in me when I didn’t always believe in myself.”


Through it all, her family has been her foundation. Her mom, Darice, was the one chasing down pitches in those early lessons, and her younger sister, Ava, now catches for her, following in Sophia’s foot-  if she won’t admit it, I know she watches me.”


Her community has watched, too. Whether packing the stands for


  jersey, I know I’m playing for more than myself,” she said. “We’ve got the best fans, and their support means more than they know.” 


pitcher, multiple district and region honors, and two straight trips to the state tournament are all part of her growing legacy. But ask her what she’s most proud of, and she’ll tell you– it’s the hard work behind it all. “I want people to remember I gave it everything I had,” she said. “That I didn’t take shortcuts. That I tried to be a good per- 


“My teammates, my family, even the little girl I used to be, they all drive me to keep going.”


When high school ends, Sophia’s journey will keep going. She plans to play softball in college and pursue a degree in nursing, hoping to become a pediatric nurse practitioner. The lessons she’s learned about leadership, teamwork, and perseverance will follow  “I’m just really thankful for everything softball has taught me,” she said. “It’s shaped who I am.” And if her story is any clue, Sophia Voss will keep chasing great- ness and making everyone back home pretty proud along the way.
