FIRST PITCHES Osage County


          League Baseball diamond. Two Osage County students not only got  Braelyn Backes, a freshman at Fatima High School, and Adalyn   


  They both admitted they were a little nervous, but Braelyn and Adalyn both made good pitches to St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Andre Pallante, who served as their catcher. The Cardinals and the Vitae Foundation teamed up to give up to 125 students and their families a chance for free tickets to Osage County Night in St. Louis.

Students from 7th-12th grades won tickets by communicating their  abortion, euthanasia, capital punishment, and human abuse/neglect. Along with writing essays, students could write a thirty-second radio ad. Braelyn wrote an essay entitled “The Invisible Wounds: The True Cost of Bullying,” which was picked as the winner. Adalyn chose to do a radio spot about pro-life issues. Her win- ning production played through the stadium PA as she walked out to  
