AGC of California Emerging Leaders 2023 Steering Committee

Inclusive Leaders Institute For the majority of today’s workforce, workplace culture plays

a huge part in their decision to stay or leave a company. Join Inclusive Leaders Institute’s Executive Program to learn how to leverage a culture of inclusion to retain and empower top talent.

with strong mentors, either within their own companies for those with existing mentorship programs already in place, or by connecting them with industry leaders from within AGC of California’s broad membership base. Likewise, they will be encouraged to serve as mentors themselves by sharing their industry knowledge and perspective with AGC Student Chapter members and others just entering the industry. AGC of California’s EL Board will begin accepting applications for the EL Academy in early summer and will select the inaugural class of approximately 20 to 25 participants by this August, according to Bilo. The Academy will officially launch in person this October during CONSTRUCT 2023. During their opening session, par-

ticipants will be grouped into smaller cohorts to brainstorm a project that they will collectively work on throughout the year. Each cohort group will have the opportunity to present their project in front of their peers, sponsors and others during the official in-person conclusion of the yearlong EL Academy at CONSTRUCT 2024.

Excitement Building Calm said that even as some details of the program are being finalized, the excite- ment and anticipation are building with the EL community. “I think that this new program has everybody really excited, and we anticipate a high level of interest,” she commented. “I’d love this to become an even bigger buzz around the industry and for this program to be something that goes on a resume and that is a differentiator lead- ing to job growth and new opportunities.” Bilo noted that the new EL Academy

will complement the existing activities and offerings of the EL program, which will continue to host networking events and hold educational webinars as it continues to promote the program’s pillars to educate, connect and engage. “Our EL program continues to be open

to anyone, but the EL Academy is for that person who, along with their sponsors, wants to take it to the next level of profes- sional development,” she said. “Eventually, completion of the EL Academy will be a prerequisite to membership on the EL Steering Committee.” Stay tuned for more, and look for the call

for applications to take part in this exciting new program!
