als within our industry who have been invested in my career and willing to mentor me over the years. I’m thrilled to be the first COO of AGC of California and look forward to continuing to serve our members and the industry.” As COO, she plans to continue to focus on “eliminating barriers” and supporting AGC of California’s highly professional staff to help them deliver the highest level of service to member- ship in their areas of expertise, from government affairs and safety and health to member events and communication. Macomber has helped spearhead
substantial growth within AGC of Cal- ifornia over the last several years and was integral to the cultural shift at the organization that mirrors changes in the industry at large. That has included a greater emphasis on diversity, equity and inclusion and, as reflected in her own journey, the growing numbers of women finding rewarding career paths in construction. What is she most proud of during her
tenure with AGC of California to date? “We have an amazingly talented and impressive staff who are positioned to deliver on the AGC of California promise to represent our membership as the voice of the industry. To lead and be part of a strong, innovative team that is passionate about the companies that shape our built environment gives me a deep sense of pride,” she said. “As an association we have seen
tremendous growth and success over the last few years. It is not coincidental. It is a direct reflection of the work that we have done with our membership in spearheading major industry ini- tiatives,” Macomber added. “The goal is to continue to be innovative, to lead efforts in being the industry of choice for our future workforce, and to support our members’ interests.”
