BUILDER $15-75 MILLION

Vasché Library Renovation” After serving the Stanislaus State campus for 54 years, the J. Burton Vasché Library needed a complete renovation. Te Otto Construction + EHDD design-build team worked with Stanislaus

State to re-design the tired building into a modern and inviting library that would better serve students. Te building required a seismic retrofit that added seven concrete shear walls and reinforced the existing brace frame connections. A complete interior renovation revamped all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, AV and telecom systems. Te project team worked with the design-build electrical trade

partner to devise an innovative plan that enabled the campus server room, located inside the library, to remain fully operational during construction – saving the campus millions of dollars. Te building was demolished down to the shell and replaced with new

architectural finishes and a revised layout. Innovative use of materials, daylighting strategies and careful refurbishment of existing elements transformed the building beyond expectations. Te final result was a light-filled, open and inviting facility with state-of-the-art technology. Also selected as finalists in this category were: Nova Probst (JV) for

“Exascale Computing Facility Modernization Project” and Swinerton for “UCR Student Success Center.”
