BY CAROL EATON

O

ver 12 years since she first joined AGC of California as executive assistant to the CEO, Darla

Macomber has played a pivotal role in the substantial growth and positive change that has taken place within the state’s leading construction industry association. Leveraging her strong work ethic, creative problem-solving skills and willingness to embrace new opportunities and challenges, Macomber has steadily ascended the leadership ranks at AGC of California since 2011, all while remaining focused on delivering the highest level of value to members at every turn. In January, AGC of California an- nounced her promotion to the newly created position of chief operating officer. In this new role, Macomber will oversee the development and im- plementation of all sales, recruitment, retention, government affairs services, engagement strategies, networking events and communications.

California, I have looked for opportu- nities for us to be better, to make shifts within the association that position us to most effectively serve our membership and industry,” Macomber said. “Work- ing in an association offers an amazing vantage point, with so much exposure to different people, companies, experiences and career paths and positions.
