s businesses navigate the burgeoning — and often confusing — artificial intelligence (AI) landscape, many have found themselves caught between making sense of the hype and leveraging the technology’s potential. At the 2025 FEDA Annual Executive Leadership Conference, Stanford professor and Workhelix co-founder Erik Brynjolfsson will cut through the sensationalism and offer attendees practical strategies for applying AI where it can most help their businesses.


During his special guest presentation on Sept. 12, The Digital Economy, AI and the Future of the Workforce, Brynjolfsson will explain how the key to unlocking AI’s potential lies not in chasing every novel application but in adopting a more granular and strategic perspective that identifies processes that have the potential to be improved by AI technologies. “Forget chasing shiny objects. The best way to find AI solutions that work is what I call the task-based approach,” Brynjolfsson says. “Break down your operations into individual tasks then analyze which ones involve prediction, optimization or pattern recognition — areas where AI excels.
