   Regardless of that, he’s had success athletically and academically thanks to his hard work and drive to improve from failures. “The drive to compete comes from previous failures and losses in my career, which fuel my desire to compete and improve my skills and game each night,” Bethell said. “I always want to do better than I did in the previous game.”


One season in which Bethell showcased his hard-working atti- tude was with Fulton baseball in 2022, when the Hornets shocked their district and advanced to the Final Four.  22 years, the bottom-seeded Hornets beat two reigning state cham- 

seed Fatima in the Class     which made it a district of upsets and redemption for Fulton after it lost 12-0 to the Comets in just their


second game that season. Bethell and the Hornets continued their fairy   for their third-best overall.


“It was one of the proudest things I have felt throughout my whole baseball career,” Bethell, a sophomore starter on Fulton’s 2022 baseball team, said.  shared his joy in sports.
