coached me growing up until about seventh grade. He taught me a lot about the game and created my love for the game. The Parker family does not miss many Cougar games, home or away. Unless Clayton happens to be playing at the same time. Then they divide and conquer.
“Our extended family, with grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and family friends are also huge supporters and always come cheer us on at our games,” Carson says.
They remember all the hard work Carson put in back at Montgom- ery, in the weight room and on the court. He plays great defense and has an extremely high basketball IQ, which maximizes his ability. He’s a workhorse and has the scars and stitches to prove it. Collin is the smooth shooter from the outside, but can also work the paint. He’s long and tough to guard.
"TALENTED AND DRIVEN PLAYERS WITH A STRONG WORK ETHIC, THE PARKER BROTHERS CARRY THEMSELVES WITH CLASS AND HUMILITY ON AND OFF THE COURT."
Together, Carson and Collin have shared many good basketball memories, from travel ball to the Wildcats and now the Cougars. Winning the American Midwest Conference regular season and tour- nament championships in 2022-2023 might be at the top of the list, with hopes of another this season.
On top of earning the top spot in the AMC in 2023 and making back-to-back appearances at the NAIA National Tournament, the duo also has a notable list of individual achievements. Collin, who was named an All-American and AMC Player of the
Year last season, is on pace to become Columbia’s all-time leading scorer in his senior campaign, as well as a top performer in the ca- reer rebounding category. He is also a two-time First Team All-Con- ference honoree while picking up a host of academic achievements during his time for the Cougars.
Carson, nearing his 100th win with the storied Columbia College program, has been named as a four-time Academic All-AMC recip- ient, two-time Daktronics NAIA Scholar Athlete, and two-time Col- lege Sports Communicators Academic All-District honoree. Talented and driven players with a strong work ethic, the Parker Carson and Collin have been great representatives of Columbia
