Sophia had enjoyed dance classes since elementary school and was always good at memorizing routines, so cheerleading was a good choice for a school activity.          being in front of a crowd, and she gets frustrated with herself when she doesn’t get things right,” her parents admit. “But each year she has become more sure of herself and this year she has really blossomed.” You can see that in her smiles. “I really like when we have parties and team activities.” Cheerleading has helped Sophia understand the importance of teamwork, while she’s built some amazing friendships with her teammates, like Riley Hiatte.


“Sophia has changed my experience on JC cheer in the best way possible,” said Riley. “We made so many memories and exchanged so many laughs together.”


“Having Sophia on the team shows me that everyone is welcome to do whatever they want no matter what,” cheer teammate
