      City Jays head basketball coach Jim Byland loved the game of basketball and coaching the Jays. Even after leaving the program, he could be seen at the Fleming Fieldhouse watching them play. In 1991, Byland was instrumental in creating a local holiday basketball tournament, known today as the 

Remembering the history and the many  ball program was important to Jim Byland. He wanted to recognize the program and its accomplishments through all-decade teams and all-decade players. That project recently became a reality through the work of a small group of people.  ball History 1925-2022 by Jack Garvin was a reference tool used for the development of the all-decade teams and players as were 
