 Our family and great team of contributors are excited about bringing you more inspirational stories in 2025 from our schools and communities. Several of our local mid-Missouri basketball teams will be taking part in the Sophie Cunningham Classic in early January. We are thrilled to feature the former Mizzou Tiger great, who is enjoying a strong career in the WNBA. We’re honoring some amazing history at Helias Catholic High, a Eu- gene legend who is returning to his roots, a former Eldon Mustang, “Minnow” Wyre, and another state championship team in St. Elizabeth.  some cross-country champions from Southern Boone and Calvary Luther- an, along with our Elite 11 volleyball and football players and Top Teams. While the new year brings new hope in sports and in life, we are also sad- dened by the loss of some wonderful people who impacted our community. Our 


coach Jim Byland, while Kevin Kelly also honors coach Byland and 100 years of Jay basketball.  one of the most charitable people I’ve ever known. Tom was my inspi- ration in so many ways. He encouraged our family to take a chance in making this magazine a reality. He spent his life lifting others up, shining the spotlight on them.
