Jonathan Hillman, CPA


Jonathan Hillman, CPA, believes when he sets his mind to something, there is absolutely nothing he can’t do. He says he owes that to his wife. “I was never a runner until I met my


wife,” Hillman explained. “I even had several doctors say I shouldn’t run when I was growing up.” Since meeting her, Hillman has trained for marathons, half- marathons, a half-ironman and a challenge at Disney World, which includes four races in four days. “She has taught me that no matter what others tell me I can or cannot do, if I put my mind to something, no one will be able to stop me from accomplishing my goals,” Hillman said. have at work, I attribute to my first job,” Hillman said. “I worked on a ranch in the panhandle with my godfather, who is also a CPA (Jim Oakes, Jr., CPA, a managing partner with Oakes & Associates in Guymon, Oklahoma),” Hillman continued. “It was there I learned a lot from working on my own how to look at a problem, solve it and put something into action that would work with what we had.”

Hillman earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from Oklahoma State University. He previously volunteered for the Tulsa Employee Benefits Group for four years and Tulsa Young Professionals for five years. He is currently volunteering for the Construction Financial Management Association, working toward forming a chapter in Oklahoma and serves as the treasurer for the Sooner Rowing Association’s Tulsa Rowing Club, which also offered a test to his problem-solving skills. “In January 2016, we were victim of arson and I’ve been involved in the rebuilding of the facilities and boat fleet for use on the river in Tulsa,” Hillman explained. “During this process, I’ve had to be involved with the criminal investigations, filing insurance claims and settlements to the fun part of now rebuilding the fleet and the building.” Additionally, Hillman is on the


Emerging Leaders Society Steering Committee for the Tulsa Area United Way, where he also participates in Tulsa Area United Way’s Day of Caring. Hillman shows no signs of slowing

If you could speak any foreign language, what would it be? Spanish – my oldest daughter is in a language immersion program, and I’m afraid once our second gets in there, they will be talking about my wife and I without us knowing what they are saying.


What was your favorite toy as a child? A BB gun (Editor’s Note: You’ll shoot your eye out.)


Where else have you lived besides Oklahoma? Spent two months in Marseille, France.
