When Muret CPA in Tulsa, Oklahoma, decided to change its software, Jon Clydesdale, CPA, JD, a senior tax accountant there, volunteered to take on the responsibility of finishing the job. “As the youngest member of the firm at the time, the role of technology expert fell to me,” Clydesdale said. “From the beginning, I have been called on by coworkers to assist in all aspect of troubleshooting computers, from general help with frozen applications to more intricate problems with complex solutions. My responsibilities dealing with technical troubleshooting led to the recognition of my skills, which ultimately resulted in being called upon to implement the new software that we would be using.” Clydesdale, who received his MBA and juris doctorate from the University of Tulsa, said, “With the decision to buy new software for the firm, I was given the instruction to make sure that the software was correctly installed on the network, correctly installed on each individual computer that would be using it, and to set up the software so that it would work for each person as soon the [task] was complete.”


“I was able to use my knowledge of our system to install the first application of software on the network,” Clydesdale continued. “I then went on to perform the installs on each individual computer, letting each employee know what was happening as I did so. Once the initial set

up was done, it was my job to instruct my coworkers on the use of the software, as well as the reasons for our change.” “In my experience working with Jon,

Additionally, he is also a youth leader and treasurer, orchestra member and served as the chair of the Youth Pastor Search Committee at Woodland Acres Baptist Church. He is also a member of the AICPA, the OSCPA Tulsa Chapter, the Oklahoma Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
