In addition to their chamber roles and functions, they also work in partnership with other organizations to bring services and value to the community. While doing all of this they have

to make that dream come true than in Culpeper, Va. We have a thriving business
backbone, a vibrant nonprofit community and our county is addressing the quality of life aspects that citizens crave. Tis year’s theme of our annual
councils include: • the Business Development and Advisory Council, • the Small Business Advisory Council, • the Young Professionals Committee, • the Non-Profit Advisory Council and
• Event Committees. Participation in these are opportunities
for us to become more involved and share our expertise and we hope you will consider joining a council or committee. New members and ideas are always welcome to ensure that we provide relevant programming and engaging events giving the most value to our members and the community.
In the past year our community has
celebrated the opening of a new county fieldhouse, a new Culpeper Wellness Foundation Rec Center, pickleball courts at Mountain Run Lake Park, additions to the town’s Rock Water Park, lights at the Sports Complex and a variety of businesses and nonprofits starting with a focus on health and wellness. and nonprofits about how important it is to find quality individuals to support our workforce and having multiple recreation and entertainment opportunities is vital to attracting that talent.
tourist destination, but now sports tourism is becoming a driving force of our community as rugby, soccer and baseball tournaments are coming to our county. Te State Little League tournament will be
played in Culpeper in 2023 and 2024 and the collegiate rugby tournament was held at the sports complex in 2022 and we expect to see it return. Tourism revenue for Culpeper reached
$68.8 million in 2021, a 32.8 percent increase over 2020. Local tourism-supported jobs totaled 650 while local tourism-related taxes were $2,916,623.

an involved membership there are new endeavors on the horizon and I’m looking forward to continuing the work already started and underway. • Te newly formed DEI Council promoting a sense of belonging and to expand community awareness regarding the economic benefits of culturally diverse services and the best practices of inclusion. Te Small Business Council is working with our County Economic Development Office to support a Small Business Seminar called the Culpeper County Conference in April 2023.
• A renewed focus on workforce issues through the Business Development Advocacy Council and the Chamber Job Listing Function.
We look forward to the coming year with
a larger scope and vision and to increased participation from our members! Aſter all, the Culpeper community shares a deep commitment to working together.
A letter from the Chamber’s president At the Chamber, we continue to welcome
those visitors to our community while introducing them to the businesses and nonprofits that make our county special. Tis year we have put an increased focus
on our committees and councils to be able to learn more about our member businesses and to be able to better communicate their needs to the public and government agencies. We have also started at new Diversity,
Equity and Inclusion Council to promote a sense of belonging – to make visitors and new residents alike feel welcome in our community. A recent study by
betterup.com showed that 56 of employees with a strong sense of belonging report a higher level of job performance. We hope that same effect takes place in our community as more feel that they belong in Culpeper. We hope you learn more about all the
wonderful organizations in our community through this publication and about the quality-of-life Culpeper provides. We truly do work hard and play hard.
