As the designated Community Service Board, Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services is a not-for-profi t organization, authorized by the State government to provide comprehensive community- based services in Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock counties. RRCS provides the residents of the fi ve counties with behavioral health services, services for the developmentally disabled, oversees fi ve senior centers and more. In the past four years, under the leadership of Executive Director, Jim LaGraff e, they have experienced a rapid cultural shift and rapid growth. In just the past two years during a period of devastating pandemic, its budget grew by over $7,300,000, a 24.9% growth and is now over $36 million. More recently, RRCS opened the S.E.E Recovery Center in downtown Culpeper in August 2021. It’s simple walk- in process enabled a record-breaking 10,000 visits in the fi rst year of operation. The center is being looked at as a model across Virginia to support individuals who are unlikely to access help.
