PRESIDENTS AWARD
YOVONNE LETSOME, Offi ce Administrator at Culpeper Chamber of Commerce
Vonne Letsome is often the fi rst face you see when you come into the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce. Her smiling face and kind demeanor makes her the perfect person to welcome the community to the Chamber world. Her personality, work ethic and ability to learn multiple roles made her the logical choice for the 2022 Culpeper Chamber of Commerce Chairman’s Award. The award is given to a staff member, volunteer or community partner who is an invaluable asset to the Chamber. Letsome was surprised by the award at the 108th Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet. “It’s a wonderful feeling to be selected for the Chairman/President’s Award,” Letsome said. “I come to work at a job that love with people I love. My work is mostly behind the scenes in a supportive role, but it’s such an honor to be recognized for that work.” Letsome served temporarily from January – March 2020, leaving in March due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. She thought she would only be gone a few months, but that quickly became a year until returning in June of 2021. She has since become a backbone in the offi ce, handling fi nances, membership outreach and clerical duties.
FRONT PAGE PHOTO CONTEST BO CORBIN
Culpeper photographer Bo Corbin won the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce inaugural photo contest to determine the Community Guide’s new front cover. “I love taking the drone out to get views that you can't get from the ground,” Corbin said. “I especially love taking photos of sunsets at Mountain Run Lake.” Corbin is a lifelong resident of Culpeper. He currently works for Culpeper County Public Schools and does photography on the side. He’s always had an interest in photography, but began to take it seriously in 2013.
