Many general managers humorously acknowledge this phe- nomenon when their eager employees return from the VMS. It’s that time of year again for venue professionals from around the

world to descend upon VMS in Wheeling, West Virginia. There are few places with such natural beauty as Oglebay Park, and this year will be another great opportunity to connect with colleagues and learn from industry leaders. For those of you who have completed years one and two of VMS, you now have the opportunity to complete a 3rd year at Oglebay by attending the Graduate Institute (GI). The GI program is advanced education for venue professionals cov- ering management theory, business, planning, diversity, leadership, human resource management, problem solv- ing, and decision making. The goal of GI is to expand an individual’s man-     skills by providing not only theory, but practical interactive workshops and activities designed to enhance your personal and professional skills.
