WHAT TO KNOW DOL AMENDS METHODOLOGY FOR CALCULATING WAGES FOR H-2A WORKERS
On February 28, 2023, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) announced that it was revising the methodology for determining the hourly Adverse Effect Wage Rates (AEWR). The rates were to go into effect with new applications for workers processed after March 30, 2023. There are efforts to pause the final rule until more information on the impact can be gathered. See Dr. Casey Reynolds’ article beginning on page 18 of this issue for more information.

Now that the TPI 2023 Membership Directory has been delivered, be on the lookout for two updated publications.Weed, Insect, and Disease Control for Turfgrass Producers and Sod as Agriculture will be mailed later this year.
OTHER TPI PUBLICATIONS TO BE UPDATED
TPI is re-writing the 2006 TPI publication Guideline Specifications for Turfgrass Seeding and is seeking member input. If you use this old publication and have ideas for new content or edits, please reach out to Dr. Casey Reynolds at

MEMBERSHIP CONSULTANT’S REPORT TO BE SHARED IN MICHIGAN
The results of the membership consultant’s analysis will first be reported at the 2023 TPI International Convention & Field Day in Belleville, Michigan, July 24-26, 2023.
