In the heart of Russellville, Missouri, a rising star is making waves both on the court and in the classroom. Addison Brizendine, a standout student-athlete at Russellville High School, is gearing up for her junior year with an impressive track record in volleyball and basketball. Her dedication, competitive spirit and unwavering com- mitment to excellence make her a beacon of inspiration for her peers and a force to be reckoned with in high school sports. Competition is the heart of Addison’s athletic drive. She thrives on the challenge of facing competitive teams that push her to elevate her game. “I enjoy playing on a competitive team that can push you to be a better athlete and to work harder,” she says. This desire to be challenged and to grow through competition is what keeps her motivated and focused in both basketball and volleyball. Summer, often a time for relaxation, is a period of rigorous train- ing for Addison. “What drives me to keep going is knowing that play- ing these sports in the summer makes me a better athlete for the school season,” she explains.

This unwavering commitment not only enhances her performance but also demonstrates her dedication to her coaches and team- mates, reinforcing her role as a dependable and driven athlete. “A big part of athletic success comes from the amount of time you put into your sport outside of practice,” she says. This mindset drives her to continuously improve and excel in her sports. Being gracious in defeat is a cornerstone of Addison’s sportsman-

ship. “To be gracious in defeat means not being a sore loser, having good sportsmanship and learning from the game,” she emphasizes. This approach not only fosters personal growth but also sets a pos- itive example for her peers and younger athletes, particularly her sister Aubrey and cousins Camryn, Faith and Abby. Addison’s foundation in sports is deeply rooted in the guidance and support of her parents, who are also her high school volleyball coaches. Her parents, Chris and Rachel, guide her with a blend of expertise and parental love. “On the court, you can see my dad’s love for Christ through how he plays, and that’s what I want people to
