 since the beginning, trying to make me the best I can be, along with spending countless hours on the course. After all my rounds, we talk  which helps me get ready for my next tournament.” The game of golf has been good to Avery. She hopes other young girls will take advantage of the opportunities in the game. “I would like to encourage other girls to play this sport. I want to show younger golfers that when you put hard work into this sport, how gratifying it can be.”


While golf is an individual game, the Eldon golf community does a  “The community is very supportive of our athletes in our town. Our golf course members are always good to give us praise and encour- agement. Golf is becoming a lot bigger in our community through our well-known junior golf program.” Avery plans to continue her golf career in college. Along with mak- ing birdies and pars, she’ll be working toward a biology degree with medical school in the future.


Golf teaches great life lessons. No community is doing it better than Eldon. Avery Wells is a shining example, and she keeps getting better.
