near the White House. Dinner in Georgetown and another long walk, we racked up nearly eight miles on the pavement. Then it was on to Philadelphia for a Tuesday night game at Citizens
Bank Park. First though, a stop at the Philadelphia Art Museum made I’m not big into movies, but this has always been a favorite. With the encouragement of my daughters, I ran up the steps and gave it my best Rocky Balboa impersonation. Apollo Creed would not have been impressed. But I think my daughters were. Or maybe not.
On to the Phillies & Dodgers game. At the time, the two best teams this stadium. We made some friends around us and learned more about the City of Brotherly Love. They certainly love their baseball team. The Phillies are really good. They beat the Dodgers 10-1 on this night. We got to meet former Phills slugger, Greg Luzinski, who owns Bulls BBQ at the ballpark. He was nice and the pulled pork was good. Next up, a trip to the Big Apple. We’d been to the Bronx to visit Yankee Stadium, but this was our chance to see Citi Field and watch
the Mets play in their home stadium in Queens. Championships, so we took a long walk around both facilities. Met some fun Mets fans, and really liked the atmosphere inside the park. Another big win for the home team, and an adventure on the mass transit system back to Times Square. Highlights in NYC were a trip around Central Park and watching
picture with Al Roker.
Park in Boston! This one was always on my baseball bucket list. While Fenway is full of character, with capacity crowds of 37,000, the actual seats aren’t all that comfortable. But the experience was awesome in Boston! Four more ballparks, from Fenway, to Philly, Citi Field to Nationals
Park, that now makes 17 parks visited. 13 left to go.
Memories made in the big cities with my daughters - Priceless.
