Eldon is a great mid-Missouri small town for many reasons. Golf is near the top of the list. And Avery Wells is carrying on the tradition of excellence. While the Eldon   Avery has led the Eldon girls’ team through her entire Mustang career.      


Success


       man, 14th in her sophomore year and  Avery keeps getting better. Through hard work and perseverance, Avery has found success both in the classroom and on the golf course. She is a standout student at Eldon High School with a 4.3 GPA, a member of the Na- tional Honor Society, and has received Summa Cum Laude honors throughout her high school career.             three-time All-Conference, three-time All-District, three-time state   highest achievement…so far. “Sports have taught me hard work, believing in myself, controlling my emotions, mental strength and learning from failure.” She has high aspirations for her upcoming senior season as well. “I would like to be conference and district champ along with beat-


 to be in the top three this year.” Avery has a passion for competition and enjoys challenging her- self to always do a little better each round. “The drive to compete comes from me wanting to improve my scores every round. This is a highly competitive sport, and I con- stantly have to improve my game to compete.”


 


She also strives to let other athletes know that it is ok to fail when you are trying to meet new goals. “I want to let other athletes know that it is ok to fail. It is about getting back up and putting the work in to achieve the goals you want.” Avery gives credit to her number one coach, and dad, Steve Wells.
