Being successful in three sports comes from Nolan’s drive to Not only is he a standout athlete, Nolan stands out in the class- room. Heading into his senior year he has a 4.04 grade point av- erage, with all A’s in high school and college classes. He’s been named Academic All-State in all three sports.
“I want people to know that working hard and staying focused will help you achieve things that you were not sure you could do.”
“Athletic (and academic) success comes from outworking ev- eryone else and making yourself better,” Nolan said. “You must work for your success because it’s not always going to be given to you.”
Nolan is a member of the Blair Oaks chapter of the National Honor Society, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the 1776 Club. lin. Nolan says mom is always there to “drive the bus” while dad’s been a coach and teacher.
“She is the one always taking me to my tournaments and games for my teams. I couldn’t do anything without her,” Nolan said. “My father is also always there for me and is always pushing me to be better. He coached me when I was little and taught me much of what I am able to do right now in sports.” And then there’s coach and uncle, Travis Holtmeyer. “He knows me better than any other of my coaches, and he is always letting me know what I can do better and helping me become a better athlete,” Nolan said. “He knows how to motivate me.” As for the future, well, there’s a big senior season coming up for Nolan and his Blair Oaks teams. Nolan says he wants to be a part of state championship teams in football and baseball and wants to place at the state wrestling tournament. He is also striving to be recognized as an all-stater both academically and athletically. After high school, it’s on to college at either a two-year or four- year school where he can play baseball and study athletic training. through a lot to stand tall as a standout athlete at Blair Oaks. “I want people to know that working hard and staying focused will help you achieve things that you were not sure you could do.”
