In Passing, The Impacts Of Ray Ward And Bill Cunningham Continue To Live


I was to have my respon- sibilities buttoned up by a certain date and I had not completed everything. I received a fax from Ray, and as I remember it while writing this, the words liter-   like a scene from a movie. I felt like he was shouting in my ear. I am sure that Ray was more eloquent, but what I remember was the equivalent of “WHAT     DOING?” Well, receiving something like that from Ray Ward was enough to get me in gear, just so I could be sure that it would never happen again. I would go to hell and back for Ray Ward (in a way I have)!”  “It was in 1983 when I accepted the booking position at the Cow


 the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum at the time. It was a great competition over the next few years battling for shows that BGP was bringing into the area. Ray had the Golden State Warriors playing in his facility during this time. In those years the Golden State Warriors
