WINNER Caliagua for “Disney’s Cotino Lagoon”


Te Cotino Lagoon in Rancho Mirage is a 24-acre crystalline water feature that is the first of its kind in California. Developed as the centerpiece of Disney’s inaugural Storyliving community, Cotino, the lagoon provides a resort-style recreational hub in the desert. Caliagua was subcontracted to deliver the underground and process pip- ing systems that enable the lagoon’s operation. Te company installed over 30,000 linear feet of piping to connect the lagoon with its treatment facilities, along with more than 300 valves for sectional control and system flexibility. By providing the backbone systems that support the lagoon, Caliagua


played a key role in transforming Disney’s ambitious vision into reality. Te project sets a precedent for how sustainable, large-scale water features can become the social and visual heart of master-planned developments. Also selected as finalists in this category were Nor-Cal Pipeline Services for


“Rohnert Park AB Sections Neighborhood Utility Improvement;" Royal Electric Company for “California Firefighters Memorial Expansion;” and Trademark Concrete Systems for “California Firefighters Memorial Expansion.”


Caliagua received a Constructor award for Disney’s Cotino Lagoon.
