ON THE COVER Operation Sky Glow - The Longest Supper Table in the World — On Nov. 13, 1953, Culpeper residents gathered on Davis Street to commemorate the electrification of the first fluorescent street lamps south of the Mason-Dixon Line. This festive occasion earned the town distinction as having had the “longest supper table in the world”. At this time, Culpeper had about 4,500 residents. Impressively, Tom Jeffries was said to have directed the preparation of enough Brunswick stew to feed 6,000 guests—a memorable feat that highlighted the town's sense of community and hospitality.
