he helped establish the Dementia Friendly program here, in partnership with the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce. Launched in May 2023, Culpeper now
includes more than 60 Dementia Friendly entities that have learned how to interact and support customers that may be aff ected by the disease. Of these are local restaurants, shops, hospitals, churches, city offi cials and even Mayor Reaves! Over the past year, Aging Together has expanded the program to Fauquier, Madison, and Orange counties. For his eff orts, John was named Aging Together’s 2023 Volunteer of the Year.
RESOURCES Aging Together is a resource program
for Culpeper, Rappahannock, Orange, Madison and Fauquier. T e partnership driven organization works with volunteers, service providers, faith communities, law enforcement, and anyone who has an interest in working with adults. T ey provide resources like the Art of Aging Expo, the Annual Dementia Conference, and have been continually cultivating the Dementia Friendly program throughout Culpeper and surrounding areas. T ey provide an annual Regional Resource Guide that connects families and individuals with essential resources in their area. Anyone interested in becoming
