Since releasing The Road I have written a lot of new music that I’m itching to get out to my fans. I’m hoping by spring 2018 I will have some new stuff out! The plan is to come out with a single first and then hopefully my first full length album.

I noticed you’re a fan or music influenced by Joe Bonamassa, and Gary

Clark Jr, two of my favorite Musicians. What is it about their music that gets to you? How has their influences taught you on playing the guitar and bass? I’m so glad to hear you are also a fan of those guys! They’re so great. What I love about their music and blues music in general is how raw and honest it is. I love how the emotion can be delivered through the guitar just as much as it can be delivered through the human voice. Joe Bonamassa and Gary Clark Jr. are both phenomenal vocalists and guitarists and I have learned a lot from them. Bonamassa has been a huge influence on my guitar playing. Every time I listen to his mu- sic, live or recorded, I am blown away by his tone. The sound he gets from his guitar has always been something I have strived to mimic. It’s mostly all in the fingers but I try! Gary Clark Jr. is another great guitarist but for me it’s his voice that really gets me. To me his delivery is everything, its pure soul. Anytime I have trouble singing something I ask myself “what would Gary do?”

Let’s talk about your current hit “The Road”, how was the song developed? Producer? “The Road” came about a few years ago; it’s one of my oldest songs actually. I sat down early in the morning with my guitar, and a cup of coffee and the guitar line just seemed to fall out of my fingers. I liked the idea of having a vocal line that mimicked the guitar line. Within minutes I had the first verse and from there it wrote itself. It sat on the back burner for a while, but when I got back home from L.A I decided to go into the studio and record it (and 4 others) and it was done over the weekend. The production concept for the song, and the rest of the EP, was fairly basic. I wanted something that sounded minimal and raw. Its guitar, bass, drums, organ and vocals with guitar overdubs and some harmonies. Nothing fancy, but with the help of my co-producer, Josh Gwilliam at OCL studios, it came out exactly how I wanted it to sound.

As we both know being on the road, is sometimes difficult in relationships, especially when you’re building a career in mu- sic? How do you manage your personal life from the road life? Being away is tough for sure, but I’m lucky because I receive nothing but support and understanding from friends and family so that makes it a lot easier!
