You’ve seen the changes in Country music. Current Artists that you like today? Any Col- laborations? We don’t listen to a lot of new country or new pop or rock, there’s some good stuff being done in Americana Music but we still gravitate towards classic country and old R&B stuff, it’s hard to beat.
We’ve recorded many duets with artists from all over the world, classic artist like Neil Diamond and Dolly Parton and newer artist like Blake Shel- ton.
Tell our readers about your new reality show? What can we expect? ‘The show is called the ‘Honky Tonk Ranch’ and you can expect anything, it’ll debut on the Cow- boy Channel around the first week of April and we’re really having a great time filming it. As we say on the show ‘As far as everyone’s knows, we’re just a nice normal family’
took off on the pop and rock charts and then crossed back onto the country charts. It was #1 or top 5 in most every country on earth in 1976, it’s been in hundreds of sound tracks and movie compilations and commercials, it’s taken on a life of it’s own, which is always a wonderful thing, we still love the song and appreciate what its’ done for our career.
Let’s talk about The Bellamy Brothers sound, you have an exceptional talented band. Who developed the sound/style? Do you have a name for it? We really don’t know another way to sound so we have just developed our sound around the way we sing, we grew up just singing songs we like, didn’t matter if they were gospel, country, rock or folk, we call it ‘Gumbo’ cause it’s a little of everything.
David, your children have music careers. What advice did you give them? I told them to become lawyers or doctors but they didn’t listen. Jesse & Noah are making some incredible music now and we’re glad to have them appearing on our upcoming TV Show with us, I think it’ll give people new appreciation for their songs.

The February Issue theme is “Heart Healthy for You and Your Horses” anything that Da- vid, Howard or Susan do to stay healthy for yourselves and your horses? We always say we spent the first half of our lives trying to kill ourselves and the second half trying to stay alive. Today we try to exercise good eating habits and supplements at the Ranch and on the road for the humans and our horses.
