DDT 280 Global Positioning Systems (GPS). This course provides students with an understanding of the principles of remote sensing and image processing and their applications. It concentrates on complex civil applications that require 3D visualization. Prerequisites: DDT 111, DDT 183, and DDT 230 or CVT 240 with a grade of “C” or better or industry experience approved by the department chair. 4 credit hours.


DDT 282 Advanced Civil Design I. This course teaches 3D modeling applications for designing site plans. Applicable standards and land drainage problems are addressed. Prerequisite: DDT 280 with a grade of “C” or better. 3 credit hours.


DDT 284 Advanced Civil Design II. This course teaches 3D modeling applications for basic road designs. Road alignment standards are addressed. Prerequisite: DDT 282 with a grade of “C” or better. 3 credit hours.


DDT 290 CAD Drafting Systems. This course provides students with an understanding of Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) operating systems, programming languages, macros, and networks. Customization of CAD software is also covered. Prerequisites: DDT 151, DDT 184, DDT 230 or DDT 254, and COM 211 with a grade of “C” or better or industry experience approved by the department chair. 3 credit hours.


DDT 292 Fundamentals of 3D Animation. This course provides students with an understanding of the selection, organization, and rendering of different materials. The student will create introductory animations using a 3D modeling software. Prerequisite: DDT 290 with a grade of “C” or better. 3 credit hours.


DDT 294 3D Animation Applications. This course provides students with an understanding of animation theories and practices. Students will create animation applications using a 3D modeling software. Prerequisite: DDT 292 with a grade of “C” or better. 3 credit hours.


DDT 299 Special Topics in Design Drafting Technology. Special Topics in Design Drafting Technology (DDT) may include instruction on topics not covered in other DDT courses. Topics covered in other DDT courses may also be covered in more depth in this special topics course. Projects may be undertaken in any area related to the major program with credit hours determined by the level and amount of involvement. The minimum involvement required for one credit is 30 contact hours. The specific topic(s), objectives, plan of instruction, and evaluation criteria must be documented in the syllabus; approved by the Department/Division Chair; and filed in the Academic Records Office. Students may complete more than one Special Topics course, provided that the credits earned in this manner do not exceed a total of four (4) credits. 1-4 credit hours.
