Virtual Career Fair: The Future of Recruiting at Your Finger Tips

By Haley Fernandez Tis fall, AGC’s Construction

Education Foundation launched its third Virtual Construction Career Fair – continuing its focus on providing employers the tools to connect to their potential future workforce in an innovative, time-saving and cost- efficient way. Nearly a dozen employers took

part in the four-hour online event on September 29 that helped connect AGC member companies directly to job seekers throughout the state. Operating from the comfort and convenience of their own offices, each exhibitor had a virtual booth online with interactive space that could be customized with company’s branding.

www.AGC-CA.org Troughout the virtual fair, booth

reps chatted live and directly with job seekers, reviewed their resumes and held interviews using skype. After it concluded, exhibitors were able to access customized metrics reports that provided them with statistics on job seekers that attended and interacted with the booth reps. Te jobseekers who participated

included veterans looking to transition into construction, college students and recent high school graduates looking for entry level work, and AGC Student Chapter members seeking part or full-time positions during school and

after graduation. Te fair offered job seekers all types of jobs in the con struction industry, ranging from skilled labor, project management, and safety to accounting and business development. While the results were still

being tallied at press time, from all accounts it was a resounding success. AGC CEF says a big “thank you!” to the event sponsors - ehsInc., Granite Construction, Railworks, Rosendin Electric and Underground Construction Co., Inc. Stay tuned for future opportunities

to tap into AGC’s next online Virtual Career Fair event. 
