PCBP University Trains AGC Students By Haley Fernandez

Te AGC Construction Education Foundation and Pacific Coast

Building Products (PCBP) hosted a three-day training session in May in the Sacramento/Bay Area that enabled AGC Student Chapter members to gain continuing education credits while networking with industry leaders, CLC and other student chapter members. Nearly 30 AGC Student Chapter Members throughout the state

participated in the three-day Pacific Coast Building Products University on May 3-5. On the first day, the students participated in a job walk at the Golden 1 Center (Sacramento Kings Arena) led by Erin Lynch, Project Engineer for Turner Construction who is an AGC Student Chapter Member Alumni. Te second day students participated in the Basalite Concrete College. Students took a tour of the plant and then

rotated through five stations that covered segmental retaining walls, masonry, concrete technology and how to build a masonry wall. Te students also heard from Myers & Sons Construction, LP who gave a presentation on their Fix 50 Project. During the third day, students participated in the Alcal Specialty College, where they learned about roofing and water-

proofing products and then went through four roofing and waterproofing mock-up stations. Te students networked with Alcal employees during a Bocce tournament and then heard Royal Electric presenting on their San Francisco International Airport RSA Program and Stockton Altamont Commuter Express (ACE) projects. Everyone that participated and completed the training received AIA and CBCI Credits. To find out how your
