Thank you for unleashing the power of camp
by Gregg Hunter Camp Changed My Life
I’ve had the privilege of sharing my story with many CCCA members. You may know that at 17, my life’s direction was radically altered at camp when I came face to face with the love of Jesus. Hurt, angry and looking for a place to belong, I found that camp provided the perfect setting for my heart to be opened to the hope of the Gospel. My story is not unusual. Kids in massive
numbers each summer experience the same life change because of your ministry. And, we know it’s not only kids. Adults, couples and families experience the same power of God while at your property, including those who work there. So, thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
Tank you for the tireless work you do so people like me can meet Jesus and grow in their relationship with Him. Tank you for facing the unique challenges of life and ministry in a camp or conference setting. I know it’s oſten difficult and without immediate rewards, and I am grateful for you.

Tis issue of InSite takes a look at the power of
camp. We look at research that proves quantita- tively that God changes lives at camp. We also report on the efforts of our campaign Te Power of Camp over the past few years. I want to tell you about another effort we’re
undertaking that is influenced by Corners of the Field, a part of Te Power of Camp focused on
providing scholarships to kids in the foster care system. We’re helping create a summit in Sep- tember where Christian camp leaders will look deeply at the issue of fatherlessness and how we might provide hope and help to kids who are living without a parent present. Together with Wheaton/Honeyrock and Psalm 68 Five Min- istries, we’re helping organize the 2020 Corners of the Field Fatherless Camp Ministry Summit. Te event is free for you to attend (the costs are being covered by a donor), you just need to pro- vide your transportation. To apply to attend, please email
Bryan.Johnson@
psalm68five.org. Space is limited; there are openings for 50 CCCA member camps to send representatives.
I appreciate you and all you do in this great movement of God we call Christian camping.
