Here are several areas we’ve been focusing on to

benefit our members and the movement of Christian camping through Te Power of Camp.

Seat at the Table Every year, thought leaders gather to discuss important issues impacting the church, youth, families and cul- ture. To ensure that Christian camps and conference ministries have a voice when topics relevant to their ministries are discussed by Christian and social lead- ers, we have been working hard to make sure your interests are represented at the table. Tis includes par- ticipating in meetings about youth culture, providing hope to youth in crisis, evangelism, marriage and fam- ily development, Bible literacy, the future of the church and other critical issues. Tis effort aims to ensure that Christian camping is viewed as a valuable partner in evangelism and spiritual formation as well as culture shaping and grooming of next-gen leaders. Tis includes involvement in and contributing to national conferences and building relationships through regular meetings with leaders of ministries in the U.S.

Corners of the Field 2.0 Corners of the Field 2.0 raises money to send finan- cially-challenged kids to camp, with an emphasis on getting foster kids to camp. A week at camp can radi- cally change these kids’ statistically-predicted future. More specifically, we hope to positively impact the future of kids in the foster care system by providing an avenue to a camp experience that provides hope, positive role models and a safe, loving environment in which kids can learn about Jesus. We have worked to build relationships with AngelTree Camping and Royal Family Kids Camp, and are helping to build a summit in the fall of 2020 about fatherless kids. Since the inception, the number of lives impacted

is amazing — a total of $455,400 has been given, and 3,348 kids have attended a CCCA camp on Corners of the Field scholarships.

Government Advocacy/Counsel Recently we have engaged an adviser to help keep a finger on the pulse of federal, state and local laws and regulations that can impact the way CCCA members conduct their ministries. We also recorded effective opposition to laws that were overturned or defeated in state legislatures for the benefit of camp and conference ministries and are working to share those victories with CCCA members so you have an example to fol- low in the event you face a similar challenge. We also have provided training to advise members/sections/ regions how to appeal to lawmakers or government entities for the best possible outcome. 
