participate, as well as speak in seminars. TPI Executive Director Casey Reynolds, PhD, also spent time with ETP President Albrecht Knigge, ETP Board Member Christian Arends, and others discussing how TPI and ETP can work together to promote natural grass. Many of the concerns that ETP members shared with Dr. Reynolds are the same concerns shared by TPI members world-wide. Tese discussions often focused around the environmental benefits of natural grass, water and drought, and regulation, etc. “TPI will continue to work with ETP and looks forward to future collaborations,” says Reynolds. “Special thanks to ETP for inviting us and hosting a great event!”

David Doguet of Bladerunner Farms in Poteet, Texas, was one of the semi- nar presenters at the ETP Turf Expo 2018.

After two days of visiting the indoor trade show exhibits and taking in seminar sessions, ETP attendees traveled the short trip south to TPI member Novogreen Cesped Natural’s sod farm in Comporta, Portugal, to check out the latest in equipment, seed, and more.

Mike Selman of Buena Vista Turf Farm in Garland, Texas, came to Portugal for the Turf Expo. He says, “I’m so glad I made the trip. Te interaction was great. Turfgrass producers from around the world have so much in common, there’s an instant connection and so much to talk about. It was interesting to check out the suppliers’ products at the indoor trade show and the field day and I picked up ideas at the seminars, too. It was a plus to connect with old friends like Christian Arends and Johnny Trandem. I was even able to visit a long-time friend who lives in Lisbon. He had owned a sod farm in Texas that we purchased from him several years ago and he enjoyed hearing about how we are using that land. I had a great time.”
