Letter from the Editor REFLECTIONS

by JENNIFER KOPSA, EDITOR

The December-January issue begs for stories that snuggle into a holiday theme. The frigid

weather encourages gathering in front of a fireplace with some festive singing. To the Christian, this time of year can also evoke tears. We read best-loved Bible vers- es that aren’t just sentimental — they are the powerful verses that transformed our own lives and continue to light our every step. We cry because the unbelievable gift is so sweetly real. You will find articles in this issue that highlight many aspects of the Christian life and work — worship, humility, relationships, creatively telling others about Jesus, and staying close to the Lord as we seek to change and grow,

In this issue we celebrate the lives of Christian work-

ers who made a difference over the course of decades and across the world. We celebrate the new pastors just coming on board with the Fellowship of Evangelical Bible Churches (FEBC), a mortgage paid off, and the success of organizations who work closely with us.

One of my favorite parts of Fellowship Focus is

towards the back, “Focus on Our Churches” because it reads like personal handwritten letters that just arrived

in my mailbox from my friends. I enjoy reading about things like church picnics and building improvements — the stuff of real everyday church life.

Finally, I hope you enjoy “The Little Berber Boy” as

much as I do. The title of that story makes me think of the song, “The Little Drummer Boy” — but its message is so much more powerful, motivating us all to tell the true meaning of Christmas, and calling on us to give a

response of worship. O worship the King, all

glorious above / O gratefully sing his power and his love.

Our President, Kevin Stone, in his opening letter

for this issue, has encouraged us to look at the story of Christmas as a story of worship. We see worship in our FEBC churches as the theme comes out in nearly every article of this issue.

Enjoy the season as you tell the true story and wor- ship the King. Merry Christmas and happy New Year!
