event day, but also afterwards when the leftovers went on to bless min- istries in Saskatoon. We praise God for our pastors who lead, encourage and motivate us to dig deeper into God’s word. Growth groups give our church family the opportunity to gather, encourage one another and discuss Sunday’s sermon passage in a deeper way. Building relationships with God and each other certainly helps us grow!

Our Sunday School picnic was held at Fort Peck, August 1.

Gary Krehbeil was Harvest Festival speaker in October. We were so thank- ful to celebrate communion Monday evening. Dawson Olfert presented EL Roi Haiti, the school for 270 children that a former Lustre Christian High School (LCHS) graduate started in his home community. Please pray for safety, for provision, for land that can be bought as they are renting. The chil- dren’s choir and the men’s choir sang.

Several families host dorm students on the dorm parents’ weekends off. Wom- en’s Mission Society completed their planned quilt for the LCHS fundraiser next spring. On October 16, Pastor and Mrs. Button hosted a men’s breakfast. Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner is an event we will have for the first time, October 31. November brings the annual meeting on November 14, and collecting Operation Christmas Child boxes. A Christmas play is being planned for early December. On December 23, we are having a “Cookies and Carols” evening!

Our Sunday service is now on Face- book under Lustre EMB Church.

It has been a busy fall season at Martensville Mission Church with activities ramping up after a quiet summer. Several much-needed renovations in our church basement and foyer were completed. As men- tioned in a previous issue, our fall programming is now in full swing. Awana started up in October and we praise the Lord that attendance continues to grow each week. After a year and a half of uncertainty and cancelled programs, the kids are ex- cited to be back! We are so thankful for the volunteers that give of their time to invest in the lives of these kids each week. Over the past year, it was thrilling to welcome the arrival

of several new “bundles of joy” into our church family. What a blessing that as a congregation we are able to stand with these new parents as they take the step of baby dedication! We celebrated the dedication of four new babies in our church in October.

We have so much to look forward to during the Christmas season as we prepare to celebrate Christ’s birth. Christmas at MMC starts with the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child ministry. Boxes are currently being assembled and col- lected for our dedication on Sunday, November 14. The celebration of the advent season begins at the end of November and is always a highlight as we are reminded of what each candle represents and why we light them. Sunday school and Youth are underway and they are busy planning for the annual Christmas program to be held on December 19. The annual Youth Coffee House, that is usually held in December, is being postponed this year and is being planned for early in the New Year. And, of course, Christmas is not complete without our Candle- light Christmas Eve Service.
