We held a baby shower at the end of September for Blaire; she is the third child born to Josh and Kylie Kovach. Our church usually only does a shower for the first born in our church, but we have decided to recognize what a special gift a baby truly is by having a baby shower for every baby born.
We were very excited to start up Sunday school again this fall along with both ladies’ and men’s Bible studies.
Twelve ladies attended a two-day online conference, “Grounded,” in October. This was provided by Revive Our Hearts.
Our church continues to host a chapel program every other week for the Bronco hockey team. Pastor Sean leads this under Hockey Ministries International. We serve them a meal, have a devotional and play a game.
As the Christmas season approach- es, we are hoping to put on a live na- tivity again. We will also be having a Christmas Eve service.

Awana is going well on Wednesday evenings. During that hour, Pastor Carpenter leads Q & A Bible studies at the Legion Hall to accommodate parents bringing children.
Jordan and Trisha Schlake, mis- sionary appointees with TEAM to Japan, were with us on September 19. Jordan challenged us in the morning with a missionary mes- sage. His father, Kendall Schlake presented a study on Martin Luther that evening. 2021 is the 500th
anniversary of Luther’s translation of the German Bible.
In answer to expressed interest, Pastor Paul is teaching a Bible study on dispensationalism on Thursday evenings. On October 3, missionary to Ukraine, Paul Miles, spoke in our evening service concerning the sad state of dispensationalism today in Christian colleges.
In preparation for our coming Sun- day evening of Genesis, we have en- joyed several videos from “Genesis Is History.” These have emphasized the authenticity of the first eleven chapters of Genesis.
On Saturday, October 30, our wom- en’s ministries hosted a pre-record- ed Hope Seminar by Linda Dillow and daughter, Jessa Dillow Crisp. Ladies from other churches in the area were invited to join us. A free noon meal was provided.
Our Harvest-Missions Festival was Nov. 20 – 21. A meal was served after the morning service.
Our church family hopes to pack 50 shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child this year. The Secret Sister Salad Supper in early December starts the season’s celebrations. Prayer Sisters exchange gifts and reveal their identities, preschool to great grandmas. In previous years we caroled at the local nursing homes. That will depend on re- strictions due to virus and flu. The Sunday evening Christmas Pro- gram, featuring renditions of carols by musical groups and soloists is a highlight of the season. New Years’ Eve starts with a potluck supper. Then fellowship, games, and puz- zles along with snacks till midnight or the puzzle is set.

This fall our church members and attendees engaged in a mid-week study entitled “Basics: Understand- ing the Foundations of a Healthy Church” from Lifeway Press. The six lessons cover Congregational Authority, Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, Stewardship, Church Discipline, Church Leadership, and the Great Commission. This was an excellent time in growing a scripture-based understanding and appreciation of God’s design and purpose for His church.
September and October also saw our sanctuary ceiling undergo a much-needed renovation. We held our Sunday morning services in our fellowship hall for four weeks. Set- ting up our service in this smaller space took some extra effort and required us to be flexible, but it also reminded us once again what is truly important in a church — the Word was still taught, praises to our God were still sung, and the church family still fellowshipped.

We praise God for the ability to run a short Vacation Bible School in August for the first time in five years, and to have the freedom to run our regular Kids Club program this fall and winter. Through the pandemic, we keep learning to flex, trying to look creatively at how God wants to use our church body for his glory. Our annual clothing giveaway was a success, not only on
