Outstanding Homeowner Leader Awards


The Outstanding Homeowner Leader Award recognizes homeowner leaders who demonstrates outstanding contributions to CAI, the association they serve, and to their surrounding communities. These individuals are committed to, and clearly understand their role and fiduciary responsibility as community volunteers. CAI is pleased to recognize the 2024 Outstanding Homeowner Leader:


JEANNE LYNN MOORE – JL Moore has been a board member at Weathersfield North Condominium Association for 10 years. She has a passion to make sure the curb appeal and home values are always at their peak. From working closely with a native plant specialist to create a beautiful native garden around the pond, to introducing various blooming trees for a pop of color throughout the “this 1970s community to desirable colors in the 2020s.” Her keen sense of business knowledge helps keep the Board on track at meetings and helps them make educated decisions for the betterment of the community. JL has always been a hands-on board member. Several years ago, she joined the Umbrella Association and had a website created for clubhouse and pool information and created an easy environment for clubhouse and pool rental for its members. JL is an active community member in Rolling Meadows, owns her own business, and was awarded the Rolling Meadows Business award.


Andrea Sorgani President’s Award


The Andrea Sorgani President’s Award recognizes the exemplary service of a volunteer and shares the memory of the dedicated CAI leader who we lost in 2021. The award is presented at the discretion of the chapter President to recognize an individual who has displayed exemplary service and commitment to CAI and who has been


instrumentational in helping the president achieve CAI’s goals.


This year’s recipient of the Andrea Sorgani President’s Award isMICHELE DUBOIS. Michele works in Marketing & Sales for DuBois Paving Co. and has been in the Community Association Industry for over 20 years. Her volunteer time with CAI began in 2009 when she served on the Social Committee. She not only Chaired that committee for many years, but she also went on to Chair the Excellence Awards & Winter Gala Committee. If that wasn’t enough, she created the Volunteer Commission, a group dedicated to volunteer placement and satisfaction. She has served six years on the Board of Directors and served as Chapter President in 2022. During her time on the Board, Michele created and currently leads the DEI Advisory Council, assuring the chapter continues to offer an inclusive environment for all. Michele additionally volunteers her time as a valued member of the Finance Committee and for the newly created 5k Task Force. Her passion and enthusiasm for CAI is contagious and has made her a shining example of what a CAI member can be. She willingly shares her time, knowledge, and connections so that everyone in her circle can benefit from her years in the industry. Michele is a great mentor and friend to all who meet her.


Barbara Wick Award


The Barbara Wick Award is presented to an individual who has made significant contributions to the Illinois Chapter as well as serving a leadership role at CAI National in memory of a former member, leader, and friend to many. Nominees regularly attend and support Illinois chapter programs and events but also makes significant contributions nationally.


This year’s recipient of the Barbara Wick award is BRIAN BUTLER, President of FirstService Residential. Beyond attending local events, Brian contributes as a speaker sharing expertise on community management and legal issues. Brian holds the CMCA, AMS, and PCAM designations, served on the CAI IL Board of Directors for three years, was President in 2020/2021, and currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Illinois Legislative Action Committee. On a National level, Brian is an elected member of the Manager’s Council and serves as the Chair-Elect. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Trustees as the Manager’s Council Representative. Brian exemplifies the qualities of the Barbara Wick award, leading by example and setting a standard that many in the industry aspire to achieve.
