Are you a Community Association Manager (CAM), a homeowner in a HOA, or a service provider? If you answered yes, then Community Association Institute (CAI) has the show for you. The 2025 CAI Annual Conference & Expo with the theme “The Greatest Show.”
THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE & EXPO is one of the most comprehensive events in the state for the industry. It offers many education sessions for managers to gain continuing education credits, as well as education for interested volunteer homeowner leaders. Homeowners are able to participate at no cost to them. The education offers the most recent legal updates, innovative trends, hot topics, and industry best practices. It also provides a collaborative space to share, learn, network, and discuss challenges/solutions with others in the industry. With over 1,600 industry professionals and homeowner volunteer leaders in attendance, along with over 200 exhibitors, there is something for everyone.
If you are looking to complete a specific project, are just trying to get ideas for ways to make your property and community better, trying to upgrade building equipment/ systems, change software, or even ask an attorney a question, the vast array of exhibitors are more than happy to have a conversation with you or even set up a time to come take a look at the property or have a one-on-one meeting with you. The exhibitors also have many giveaways, raffles, and fun games at their booths to keep all the attendees involved.
The Conference & Expo has many moving parts and can be quite a production to plan and execute. CAI IL hosts one of the largest shows of any of the CAI chapters nationwide and it is no small feat ensuring the event is planned and executed properly. The Conference & Expo is achieved by the tireless work of several of 17 awesome volunteer committees. The Conference & Expo Committee also works in conjunction with several committees that all collaborate to make the event come together: Digital Communication Committee, Homeowner Leader Education Committee, and Manager Education & Development.
The main committee is the Conference & Expo Committee, which has about 20 people on it, including one chairperson (Saulius Bertulis, Painters Pro USA) and two co-chairpersons (Tony DeNovo, Giertsen Co. and Matt Dorsch, Community Specialists). The chair serves for 2 years and then is replaced by one of the co-chairs. The committee as a whole works together on the pre-conference venue walk through, the theme of the expo, a possible charity or group to feature, the expo floorplan and layout, calling past exhibitors to see if they would like to exhibit again, filling the current sponsorships, and producing possible new sponsorships.
