The honor of serving on the CAI Illinois Chapter Board of Directors not only comes with great responsibility, but there is also a sense of urgency. In between voting on decisions for things the chapter requires to operate day-to-day, as a board member you are always thinking and planning for the future of the chapter. You want to make the most of your time on the board to develop concepts and ideas that will endure and help the chapter grow; however, the length of your term marks the amount of time you personally have to champion and execute these ideas. Your mind is constantly at work and your heart is filled with passion and desire to best serve the membership.
Many lyrics from the song A Million Dreams eloquently summarize these feelings:
‘Cause every night I lie in bed The brightest colours fill my head A million dreams are keeping me awake I think of what the world could be A vision of the one I see A million dreams is all it’s gonna take Oh a million dreams for the world we’re gonna make
Our vision is to provide creative, innovative, award winning programs and events for all members of CAI Illinois. This happens with help from the chapter committees and volunteers; their vision, hard work, and dedication bring
the dreams of the chapter to life. Committees are always buzzing with ideas and suggestions to create, reinvent, or improve upon chapter programs. The collaboration between committees and the board of directors is the key to our continued success. Fresh and imaginative, out-of- the-box ideas are a signature of the Illinois Chapter, and all come from our volunteers.

Dreams and ideas are constantly flowing between the Illinois Chapter Board of Directors and the chapter committees. Board members stay connected to committees by being assigned as liaisons, serving as the link of communication
