Each member of our staff brings a unique blend of experience, passion, and personal flair to their roles, making CAI not just an organization, but a vibrant community. With a wide range of industry experience, from newcomers to seasoned veterans, our team embodies the spirit of “This is Me”; proud, passionate, and unapologetically authentic.
A CHERYLMURPHY, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
With over 17 years of industry experience, Cheryl is the guiding force behind CAI. She wears many hats, working closely with the Board of Directors, Business Partner Council, Volunteer Commission, and numerous other committees including Conference & Expo, Magazine, Membership, Membership Directory, Illinois Legislative Action Committee, Legislative Fundraising, Awards, and Nominating. Cheryl’s favorite event is the Summer Social, where the relaxed atmosphere fosters genuine connections. Outside of work, you can find Cheryl spending time with her kids, friends, and dog by the water, whether it’s a lake or the ocean. Fun fact: Cheryl can sing the alphabet backwards!
ADMINISTRATIONMANAGER With 15 years in the industry, Ania is the financial backbone of CAI, managing both finance and administration. She also liaises with the Finance Committee, newly formed Community Outreach Committee, and the DEI Advisory Council. Ania’s favorite CAI programs are the DCAL events, where she enjoys meeting engaged homeowners and learning from informative sessions. Ania is passionate about cooking, hosting intimate dinner parties, and traveling. In a surprising twist, she graduated from two high schools in the same year—one in regular education and one focused on Polish language studies.
ANIA DRECHSLER, FINANCE & JAMIE CARLSON, PROGRAM & EVENTMANAGER
Jamie, who also has 15 years of industry experience, guides CAI’s events and educational programs toward success. Jamie works with Homeowner Leader Education, Manager Education & Development, Summer Social, Excellence Awards & Winter Gala, and the Golf Committees and hopes to start a Real Estate Connections Committee within the next year. Her favorite event is the Conference & Expo, where the entire industry comes together to learn and enjoy a day of networking. Jamie’s love for live music and family movie nights adds a touch of rhythm to her life outside of work. And here’s a fun tidbit: Jamie went to school to become a court stenographer and can still type an impressive 225 words per minute!
ANNALIZA ARCEO,MARKETING COORDINATOR
Annaliza brings 8 years of industry experience to her role, where she coordinates all things marketing and works with the Digital Communications committee. Annaliza formerly worked for one of CAI’s Business Partners and even Co-Chaired the Summer Social Committee at that time. She finds joy in the Excellence Awards & Winter Gala, a sophisticated event that celebrates the hard work of CAI volunteers. When she’s not at work, Annaliza is cheering on her kids at their sports competitions. She’s also an accomplished pianist, with a staggering 256 trophies from competitions.
NIKKI WIJAS, ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Nikki, with 2 years of industry experience, is the glue that holds our administrative operations together. She interacts with all committees, ensuring that everything runs smoothly. Nikki’s favorite event is the golf outing, where the beautiful outdoor setting adds a refreshing twist to her work. In her personal time, Nikki enjoys motorcycle rides with her husband and cherishes moments with her grandson. She’s also an amateur photographer and a passionate gardener.
SHEILA STERN, BOOKKEEPER
As the newest member of our team, Sheila has quickly become an integral part of CAI, supporting all committees through her meticulous accounting work. Though new to the team, Sheila’s past experiences, including roles as a Paramedic and a Military Flight Chief, bring a wealth of knowledge to CAI. We’re excited to see the impact Sheila will have on our organization as she grows in her role.
